BuddyPress Presentation by Jeff Lee – North East Ohio WordPress Meetup

Last night, Jeff Lee graced us with a BuddyPress presentation at the North East Ohio WordPress Meetup hosted by Brian Layman and Jeff Chandler. He demonstrated functionality, options, plugins and also gave us a tour of it in production. Jeff is currently involved in a hyper local news and social networking site: CityZombie. It is experimental and currently in beta, but from what he displayed, it seems quite functional.

BuddyPress is a free open source WordPress plugin that enables a wide range of social networking capabilities. It has been labeled “social media in-a-box”. There are also several plugins for BuddyPress that extend it beyond its core functionality.
